I’m Tej Kalianda
I enjoy turning tangled problems into intuitive experiences.
I have 15 years of experience designing complex systems that feel simple. Sometimes that means shaping tools used at a global scale.
Other times, it means brightening your screens with animal antics :)
My educational and professional journey is rooted in environmental engineering and interaction design. I’ve built a startup, developed solutions for AI, data, and developer tools, and managed design teams for large-scale enterprises.
All this, before my current journey at Google Search.
I believe the best systems are as intuitive as nature, and sometimes just as delightfully unexpected.

As an early designer at Citrix Analytics, I played a key role in shaping it into a flagship AI/ML analytics platform with a user base of ~200,000.
I then built and managed a design team, unified the design language across the entire Citrix suite, and laid the groundwork for contributing core patterns to the company’s design system.

I was the founding designer for ShareConnect, transforming it from an idea through build, all the way to a revenue-generating platform with 8000+ users.
I crafted and refined every part of the user experience from the earliest sketches and prototypes to a global, scalable product.

As the founding designer at Wotu, I helped build a platform that empowers Indian farmers by connecting them directly with buyers.
I led design, user research, brand identity, and investor storytelling that helped pave the way for Wotu’s acquisition by Zomato.

As an early designer for PayPal’s digital wallet for the Indian market, I focused on creating intuitive experiences by anticipating local user needs and tailoring features for everyday convenience.
My role spanned research, prototyping, and executive-level storytelling to guide PayPal’s strategic direction to regional product development.
